1958 Allis Chalmers D17 Diesel

Some information on the D17
The tractor had been in my wifes family since the early 70's and hadn't been used
for about 10 years
In order to start work on it the loader had to come off
Looks quite different without the loader
My brother-in-law found the fenders, dry and inside for 45 years
The radiator will need a recore
This crack at the lower connection leaks profusely as well
Soberg Radiator in Barrett did a nice job
The tractor could be started by pulling it, but the starter did not work
The solenoid was rusted tight and needed to be cut open to get this necessary piece
The new solenoid got it to engage
It worked but cranked slowly and started with difficulty
I took it to Neal Gaarder, he had to resolder the commutator and it now works great
