There was a problem with one of the replacement spin-out rims that wasn't apparent until it was all painted and mounted. I decided to repair the best of the original rims. The area around the valve stem needed the most attention.

Things this size need the outdoor blaster, and it cleaned up nicely.

After blasting the hole is a bit larger and a couple other small holes can be seen on the right.

And from the back.

A flat washer is the largest piece of the patch welded in place

The patch will not be too noticable and will work fine.

The part that only sees the tire and tube can be sprayed black.

The parts that face the world get a coat of silver, and overspray on the black is not an issue.

Here we see the proper original spin-out rim with 4 holes on the rail for wheel locks.

And here we see the issue with the replacement rim. There are 5 holes with spacing that won't allow for a wheel lock on both sides of the eccentric.

All this work so the wheel can be held in place properly.
